Let's Chakra
Let’s take a look at the basics of the chakras.

Root Chakra (Muladhara) (Red)

Location: Base of the spine
Focus: Grounding, survival, safety
When unbalanced you may feel anxious about where you are or who you’re with. You may feel pain in the feet or lower back, tightened muscles and feeling alone.
The term "Muladhara" combines "Mula" (root) and "Adhara" (support or base), emphasizing its role as the foundation upon which the other chakras build upon. It seats the physical body with our souls. When grounded, we feel safe to play, to belong, to let go and be free to be ourselves. We also feel rested and stable in our bodies with feet rooted or firmly planted and know that we are free to play while moving forward.
Understanding and nurturing the Root Chakra is essential for overall well-being. By establishing a strong foundation, you empower yourself to explore higher aspects of consciousness with confidence and stability.
When balanced, you feel safe, secure, and supported by the world around you.

Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) (Orange)

Location: Lower abdomen (below belly button)
Focus: Emotionally open, creativity, pleasure
When unbalanced, you may feel emotionally unstable, creatively blocked, guilt-ridden, or experience lower abdominal discomfort.
Svadhisthana, meaning “where your being is established,” is the second chakra and represents the energetic step after grounding into safety through the root chakra. Once you feel secure and rooted, you gain the freedom to explore your emotions, desires, and creativity—this is the realm of the sacral chakra. It governs pleasure, sensuality, emotional flow, and connection in relationships. When balanced, Svadhisthana allows you to move through life with joy, to feel fully, and to experience intimacy and creativity without shame.
When the sacral chakra is balanced, you may experience emotional ease, creative flow and healthy relationships.

Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) (Yellow)

Heart Chakra (Anahata) (Green)

Location: Middle of the chest
Focus: Love, balance, kindness, forgiveness
When unbalanced you may become bitter, jealous, like you can’t breathe or feel unloved and depressed.
The term Anahata can be translated as “unstruck.” Humans have tender hearts and it’s with this in mind, that we connect with compassion and kindness. Moving from the solar plexus chakra to the heart chakra, we start to notice we choose connection over the necessary use of personal power. We naturally desire to forgive and sometimes, notice if we accept people for who they are—a human being, there is nothing to forgive. We serve, we soften—not in weakness but through vulnerability.
When the heart chakra is balanced, you may experience deep compassion, unconditional love, and a sense of harmony in your relationships and with others.

Throat Chakra (Visuddha) (Blue)

Location: Throat
Focus: Choice, communication, truth
When unbalanced you may hide out from your truth, have difficulties with miscommunication and have problems with your throat and jaw.
The term Visuddha can Be translated as “especially pure.” The throat chakra purifies your inner truth through conscious expression. In the heart chakra, we learn to live in compassion and love. Love that stays silent can’t create change and heal the world. Through the throat chakra we recite poetry, sing songs, play music that sends love out loud. The heart chakra compels us to speak honestly, say no when you used to say yes, without guilt and when you do, you feel a deep alignment inside.
When the throat chakra is balanced, you may experience authentic self-expression, clear communication, and the confidence to speak your truth with ease

Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) (Indigo)
Location: Between the brows
Focus: Inner Wisdom, clarity of mind and spirit/soul, imagination
When unbalanced you may not trust your intuition, have problems learning, fear the future and experience headaches.
The chakra system is a map of human evolution—from basic survival to spiritual awakening. As we ascend through this energetic pathway, each center refines our consciousness. By the time we reach the Ajna chakra, the sixth chakra, we’ve already grounded ourselves in the physical world and developed emotional intelligence, personal power, compassion, and the ability to express ourselves.
Now, we arrive at a threshold where you begin to see beyond that life — to access higher wisdom and the inner guidance. The third eye is where you start to understand what your seeing, I love learning and this chakra makes me happy, when it’s balanced. Here our knowing becomes our compass.
When the third eye chakra is balanced, you experience clear intuition, heightened perception, inner wisdom, and the ability to see beyond the surface of life.

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) (Purple)
Location: Top of head
Focus: Light, connection to source/higher self and awareness
When unbalanced you may experience chronic fatigue, migraines and obsessive thinking.
The term Sahasrara can be translated as “lotus of a thousand petals” it represents the highest state of consciousness. After awakening the third eye chakra (Ajna), we are gifted with insight, intuition, and spiritual vision. We begin to perceive what lies beyond the physical.
But in Sahasrara, even perception dissolves.
You move from seeing truth to being truth.
From perceiving with clarity to merging with consciousness itself.
Sahasrara doesn’t give you something new to become—it gently unravels everything you are not, returning you to pure stillness of I AM.
When your crown chakra is balanced, you may experience a deep sense of spiritual connection, inner peace, and a feeling of unity with all that is.

The journey through the chakras is a return to wholeness—from the grounding of Muladhara, where we discover safety and belonging, to the expansive stillness of Sahasrara, where we merge with the infinite. Each chakra builds upon the one below it, guiding us through layers of healing, growth, and awakening. We learn to feel, to act, to love, to speak, to see, and finally—to simply be. As we align these energy centers, we don’t become someone new; we remember the truth of who we are: rooted in the Earth, connected to Spirit, and alive with the energy of the universe flowing through us.
